Abstract:Aiyalai Garment operates chain-store garment retailing. This case is based on real-life experience; it records the inventory overload crisis that struck the company in September 2013. Although the company managed to clear much of its overload through discount sales, it incurred tremendous loss. Gao Dunjian, the director of supply chain of Aiyalai, knew that discount sales etc. is not the solution in the long run, and he struggled to define what the fundamental issue was at Aiyalai and how might he deal with the issue.
