Conference organizers:

Organizers: Journal of Supply Chain Management

Hosting organizer: School of Management, Zhejiang Univerity

About Journal of Supply Chain Management:

Journal of Supply Chain Management (JSCM) was launched as the International Journal of Purchasing and Materials Management in 1965. Like its title, the Journal’s mission has adapted to the changing nature of the discipline. Our global economic system is facing an unprecedented transformation, and supply chains play a key role in this journey. JSCM is the journal of choice among supply chain management scholars, attracting high-quality, high-impact empirical research focusing on theory building and empirical methodologies. As a global journal, JCSM welcomes submissions from researchers with a diversity of demographic (i.e. gender, nationality, etc.) and professional (i.e. university, academic discipline, research methodologies, etc.) backgrounds. JSCM welcomes interdisciplinary studies that push the boundaries of knowledge by focusing on emerging phenomena and/or using novel approaches to examine established phenomena.

Over the past decade, JCSM has often been ranked first or second among supply chain and operations management journals based on its Clarivate Impact Factor. It is one of only four empirical OSCM journals included in the SCM Journal List (http://www.scmlist.com/). JSCM is also ranked a “4” on the 2021 ABS/AJG list (UK), an “A” on the 2022 ABDC/JQL list (Australia), and an “A” on the 2023 Meta-Rating BWL list (Germany).

Registration and submission:

The two panels and two feedback sessions are open to all in-person conference registrants, no matter whether you submit your research to the conference or not. However, to benefit more from the two feedback sessions in the afternoon, you are strongly encouraged to submit either an early-stage project, as an extended abstract (less than 1000 words), or a late-stage project, as a full working paper, or both. If you plan to do so, please upload your extended abstract and/or your working paper, plus your resume, at the conference registration link https://forms.office.com/r/3ngXdtQ9Gz by May 1st, 2024. Note that the acceptance of your submission, which will be notified by May 15th, 2024, is a prerequisite for you to present your research in one or both feedback sessions and receive high-quality feedback from mentors.

The registration fee for this event is 1200 RMB for faculty members and 800 RMB for students, which covers the coffee/tea/snack and the dinner on Friday, irrespective of whether you submit an extended abstract or a working paper to the conference or not. Once you have registered for the conference, you will receive an email about how to pay for the conference registration fee.

Prior to the event, there will be one or two assigned mentor for each accepted extended abstract and working paper. The mentor(s) are expected to provide written feedback in a word or pdf file (three-four abstracts/working papers per mentor in each session at most) and bring the written feedback to the event. Upon feedback and ratings from mentors, the Co-Editor in Chiefs of JSCM will invite some working papers to be submitted to the Journal of Supply Chain Management.

Upon completion of the workshop, attendees will have the opportunity to obtain a certificate of attendance.

We understand that some participants may have travel restrictions (e.g., visa), and we are happy to provide a remote option as a backup solution. However, please keep in mind that attending in person allows for greater interaction and collaboration with other participants.

We are committed to minimizing the carbon footprint of this workshop. We strongly urge you to consider alternative modes of transportation instead of flying, as air travel is a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions. Hangzhou is easily accessible via train and bus connections from major cities in China. Together, we can work towards a more sustainable future by reducing our impact on the environment.

Similar JSCM workshops are planned for or have been held in North America, Latin America, and Europe. Stay tuned for more information and opportunities to participate in these events.
